{"id":7365,"date":"2025-03-25T12:46:34","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T23:46:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/websitedesignhosting.co.nz\/motovated\/?p=7365"},"modified":"2025-04-29T11:22:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T23:22:54","slug":"why-motovated-teamwork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/websitedesignhosting.co.nz\/motovated\/why-motovated-teamwork\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Motovated TeamWork"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To connect and support\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nzmanufacturer.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NZ Manufacturers<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0and Contractors,<\/strong> <strong>helping New Zealand compete on the World Stage!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How Can NZ Compete?<\/strong><br \/>Collaboration, working together, pooling and sharing our resources is necessary for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nzmanufacturer.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NZ Manufacturers<\/a>\u00a0and Suppliers to compete on the world stage. \u00a0Our manufacturers need access to our best engineers, and engineering best practices, if they are to bring world-class products to world markets. \u00a0Often our manufacturers are not in main centres, and don\u2019t have large engineering teams in-house. \u00a0They also have peaks and troughs in their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.motovated.co.nz\/product-development-services-product-design-engineers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">product development<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.motovated.co.nz\/motovated-teamwork\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">engineering certification<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.motovated.co.nz\/machine-design-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">machine design needs<\/a>.\u00a0 But NZ has the best engineers I\u2019ve seen, and I\u2019ve seen a lot of engineering.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>So how do we connect NZ\u2019s best manufacturers to the amazing engineering talent that is available in NZ?<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>How can we make sure that those engineers have the training, tools and support that they need to do world-class engineering?<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>If we can\u2019t do world-class engineering, how can NZ compete on the world stage?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/websitedesignhosting.co.nz\/motovated\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Untitled-1000-x-1000-px-500-x-500-px.png\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Motovated TeamWork as a Solution:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I thought about this a lot over the 25 years I\u2019ve been engineering in NZ. \u00a0That is on the back of 10 years as a Mechanic in Alaska, and 10 years as an Engineering Analyst in the US Aerospace industry.\u00a0 So for 45 years I\u2019ve been developing the know-how to help mentor and grow our best engineers, in support of NZ\u2019s engineering infrastructure. \u00a0But we\u2019re clear that Motovated as a consultancy can\u2019t do it alone. We need to leverage the amazing engineering contractors that are all over NZ to help our manufacturers and suppliers excel.<br \/><br \/>Motovated is committed to helping NZ produce innovative, best-in-class products and services to the world. We can\u2019t compete on price or volume, so we need to stay ahead of the curve with niche, fit-for-purpose products. \u00a0 &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.motovated.co.nz\/motovated-teamwork\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Motovated TeamWork<\/a>&#8221; connects New Zealand&#8217;s manufacturers with our contracting engineers, throughout NZ.\u00a0 Motovated is committed to expanding these relationships with additional engineering resource, offload support like analysis, and training to up everyone\u2019s game. \u00a0 A rising tide floats all boats, and Motovated is committed to expanding, growing and mentoring our amazing contract engineers and connecting them with NZ&#8217;s best Manufacturers, when and where they need it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Some Background:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I emigrated to NZ I was struck by how differently engineering was done here. \u00a0 Around Seattle alone, where I worked for Boeing, they had 11,000 engineers from memory. \u00a0I\u2019m pretty sure that\u2019s more degreed engineers than NZ has! \u00a0As of May last year, Boeing had 56,000 engineers in total. \u00a0The aligned collaboration that this makes possible is phenominal, and difficult to replicate. \u00a0We&#8217;ll never complete with Boeing, but we need to compete with manufacturers overseas that have hundreds or thousands of engineers. \u00a0As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ernest_Rutherford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ernest Rutherford<\/a>\u00a0said, &#8220;We haven&#8217;t got the money, so we&#8217;ve got to think.&#8221;.<br \/><br \/>When I came here I needed to learn to do things differently; to learn from, collaborate and share knowledge with amazing engineers all over NZ. What I noticed is the engineers here were much more pragmatic and hands-on than the degreed engineers in the States. \u00a0Our engineers are very good at something, and OK at lots of things. \u00a0But they didn\u2019t have much support. \u00a0Sometimes they\u2019re working in small firms or on their own, with limited resources for training or mentoring. \u00a0There aren\u2019t many peers or mentors around them to bounce ideas off of, or to help guide and grow them.<br \/><br \/>And the things engineers don\u2019t know, which is always more than we do know, often catches us, our firms and NZ out.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What we must avoid:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve seen it happen time and again. \u00a0Great ideas gets to market too soon, with insufficient fundamental engineering and peer review. \u00a0The manufacturer cops it through product recalls, bad press; their bottom line and reputations suffers.\u00a0 A great product doesn\u2019t last in market, and a good manufacturer goes under.\u00a0 Good engineers lose their jobs, and something that could have helped NZ compete on the world stage instead draws our economy and our reputation down.<br \/><br \/>This isn\u2019t OK in Motovated\u2019s books.\u00a0 We are committed to doing what we can to ensure that this scenario doesn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 Motovated TeamWork is our latest idea on how to help NZ Manufacturers have access to world-class engineering.\u00a0 Motovated has a proven track record of helping manufacturers get to market sooner, with better products, less risk, and increased return on investment.\u00a0 Motovated also has a proven track record of developing skilled engineers, providing professional development, training and support to allow them to become world-class engineers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Something New:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motovated.co.nz\/motovated-teamwork\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Motovated TeamWork<\/a>\u00a0expands on where we\u2019ve gone and what we\u2019ve done before.
